Located in the Texas Hill Country of New Braunfels, The Reserve at Engel is a 96-unit, mixed-income, Class “A”, service-enriched, family development. In 2014, the principals of Generation Housing began discussions with city leadership and the Director of Economic Development to discuss solutions to address the city’s severe lack of affordable housing. The City of New Braunfels had seen an influx of industrial and service-related jobs however, housing production for low-to-mid income residents had virtually stopped. Additionally, the City of New Braunfels had very limited funds available to help to address the housing shortage. Through a collaborative effort with the City of New Braunfels, in conjunction with MVG, a plan was created to address the housing shortage. In 2015, the City of New Braunfels unanimously approved the development. The Reserve at Engel was completed in 2017 and fully leased in three months, with a waiting list of over 250 people.
